My dog has scabs and scars on her elbows?
i got my dog from the pound this year she was skin and bones with lots of cuts when we got her and looked like Shed been abused now that we have looked she is a suitable weight and her cuts have healed but now she is developing scabs on her elbow which is causing her to loses a bit of fur around there what do i do to heal them or prevent them by the way she is a Rhodesian ridge back x wiemarana|||these are pressure sores and comes from laying on hard surfaces. %26quot;Udder Cream%26quot; or a skin cream with vit E, etc will help soften the calousus|||my dog has the same type of thing she has had it forever and we got her from an animal shelter , i think its just like wearing -off fur she is about 6 now and she is just fine but still has it , i think its just because of floors without carpet but i am not really sure . hope this helps :)|||My dog has this too, but it comes from him lying on those rough pebblestone tiles(?). If your dog lies on a rough surface a lot, that happens and isn%26#039;t anything to worry about.|||I agree with all the other answers, but it can also be a thyroid problem. Tho they put my dog on pills %26amp; I really didnt see much difference.|||she just has this because of the way they lay down, especially if your dog likes to lay on the tile or on concrete. its normal|||Does she have a soft bed? Dogs get hairless scabby joints from laying on a hard surface.|||If its gray and ashy looking, its from laying on hard ground.|||its from lying on ruff ground like concrete or gravel it is a cllaous and they do not go away.|||it is from laying on hard ground or surface
