Do you think I should get a Tattoo to cover my scars?

I%26#039;m trying many oils like olive oil and bio oil etc.... But what if it doesn%26#039;t work?

I want to join the Military but they wont let you in if you have a history of depression and stuffs like that. I have gash marks on my arms from past self mutilation, I%26#039;m trying to get rid of them.

Do you think a tattoo would do the trick of hiding them? Keep in mind I have to pass a physical...

|||I%26#039;m not sure if it will. But if you want to go through all the pain of a tattoo, go for it honey! Maybe you should ask a tattoo artist for the best answer.

Good luck in the Military if you get in.|||1. You can%26#039;t %26quot;cover%26quot; a scar with a tattoo.

2. Some military branches won%26#039;t let you in if you have tattoos, or if you have them in certain places (although sometimes you can get a waiver, but that%26#039;s rare).

3. History of depression and cutting? You have to pass a mental exam as well as the physical. I wouldn%26#039;t go into the military if I were you - it is a sure way to become depressed. |||i think a tattoo would only draw attention to them because you can%26#039;t hide the bumps they make. plus tattoos are there for life so its a pretty big decision to make

if your totally over it just come right out and show them, it will prove to them that your not depressed anymore|||i dont think you should get one... first of all you are joining the military,,, i dunno if that has something to do with joining the military but second im pretty sure youre gonna regret getting that later on... you know when you get old and stuff like that,.. coz i know lot of people are regretting getting one before... and its just not a soliution getting at all... go to dermatologists....|||Well I don%26#039;t know about other branches of the military but the Marines won%26#039;t let anyone in now if they have visible tattoos (new doctrine picked up recently). Plus I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s wise to have a needle cover sensitive areas of skin aka scar tissue.|||Tattooing over a scar wont hold the colour.

I got a tattoo and the artist did a small bit too deep ansd it scabbed and the colour fell out. I went back and they went over where the scab had been and the colour never held.

|||I know someone who was severely burned when they were young he is much older now and has some minor scars, but he got a tattoo and you can still see it, so i don%26#039;t know how much it would cover up. but good luck! |||Consider getting laser surgery to remove them.

However, a history of depression and self-mutilation seriously doesn%26#039;t bode well for someone with a military career.|||i think that you shouldn%26#039;t cover them up.

they are your battle wounds.

they should remind you of how lucky you are to be alive.

and they also show you how far you have come.|||Its really hard to put a tattoo on a scare because the color wont hold. Also it will hurt really bad my sister had a tattoo that ended up scaring %26amp; she got it re-done which she said hurt really bad.|||Honestly, using a tattoo is a bad idea...the needles used to insert the ink might just open the scar more.

Try some over-the-counter neosporin.|||Are you ready for the military?|||u shud put a tatoo and dont worry about the physical|||no it hurts you more to cover them up because when you see the tatoo it will always be there!|||i have some on my arm, no need in covering them up its a part of your history, just tell them your over it|||i probably would.|||tattoos dont hide scars

sometimes they can make them pop out more, making them more obvious|||of course
