Why do i get acne scars?

I only have acne on my cheeks and i do not pick at my pimples. I actually keep my hands away from my face as much as possible. I used some acne pills and some acne medication for my face. The scars are brown.|||they are spots because the acne was there they normaly go away after 6 months
