what do they look like?? We have this stray cat we wanna take in, but we dont want to bring her in without knowing she%26#039;s spayed, b/c one of our other cats isn%26#039;t fiexed yet....|||There%26#039;s a line that would go down her middle. On some fatter cats, the scar line tends to hold taut while a bag of fat kind of hangs down on either side of it.|||well if you don%26#039;t plan on breeding the one you have now get it done. You%26#039;ll know if a cat isn%26#039;t fixed be the signs. A girl cat in heat makes this aweful loud noise constantly for weeks about every 6 wks. or so. males spray urine.you can%26#039;t get that smell out, and it%26#039;s horrible. You can%26#039;t alwats see scars from those who are fixes. boy cats, when fixed don%26#039;t have their testicals. and when missing you%26#039;ll notice a bigger gap from their butt hole and the other.|||The spay procedure begins with an incision in the skin. We make a small one (we call it a bikini scar when it heals) because it minimizes anesthetic time when we have to suture the skin and muscles back together, and to minimize post operative discomfort. Smaller incisions also heal faster and minimize the chance of complications. We pick a specific location on the abdomen to make our incision. This location minimizes skin bleeding, gives us direct access to the muscles we need to go through to get into the abdomen, and puts us directly over the ovaries and uterus.
All our spays are performed under sterile conditions. Our surgeon is making this incision near the umbilicus (belly button) on this cat.|||I have three cats who have all been spayed and if you shave their bellies you can%26#039;t even see the scars. The vet or vet tech should be able to feel for scar tissue but it%26#039;s no guarantee. Sometimes you just can%26#039;t tell until you open them up.|||Take her to a vet, walk in and ask a vet tech to tell you, its free and then you wont have to worry about adding to the overpopulation of stray animals in this world.|||They should be able to tell at the vet%26#039;s office whether the cat has been spayed or not. You have to take her in for a physical exam and to get some shots anyway.
